There’s not much to say about this one. It’s just another semi-typical sounding theme I put together to try getting the ball rolling again with this site.

In an alternate and much stupider reality, Land O’Lakes would rebrand itself as LOL to appeal to a younger, hipper market, and this would be their upbeat summer jingle for 2010. Credit goes to my friend John for the original LOL = Land O’Lakes idea and for co-authoring the lyrics.

Lyrics

Dairy gold, grade Double A
Land O’Lakes is all it takes
To make your meal better than love

You can have it on a bagel
You can have it on toast
Have it on a muffin
Where I like it the most

Well oh well… LOL!

You can have it on potatoes
You can have it on squash
Have it on a cracker
If you feel like a nosh

Well oh well… LOL!

This one’s a little more sentimental than my usual stuff and has a bit of a “magical” sound I think. It would probably be best suited for a Christmas or Holiday Season commercial. I have some lyrics for it, but they’re not suitable for a commercial soundtrack. The version with words will probably end up as part of a separate project I’m working on.

This started out as just a plain old instrumental, but I think it would work well in a commercial soundtrack. Not sure what it would be used for, but definitely something upbeat and cheerful.

This Coke® Is All Mine

This is probably the least inspired piece I’ve done so far and I think it shows. Still, it has some nice features and the second half is moderately catchy. I sadly have a very real addiction to Coca-Cola® which I can’t shake, so there will most certainly be more about it here in the future.

Lyrics

We shared a love for bubbling beverages
So sweet and sparkling like a summer night

We built a love nest with a Coke® stocked fridge
But then you left me and I feel… so… AHHHHHH!

You broke my heart
And left for all time
But that suits me fine
Cuz now this Coke® is all mine

You broke my heart
Hung me out to dry
But that suits me fine
Cuz now this Coke® is all mine

My second foray into writing music suitable for a television commercial. I always pictured this going with some sort of technology product or service.

This is the piece that started my little hobby. It was originally titled “I’m a Contemporary Commercial Soundtrack Composer“.

After thinking to myself several times that it must be incredibly easy to write one of those piano-pounding, shuffle beat numbers so popular in TV commercials not so long ago, I sat down and wrote this little ditty in a matter of minutes. The vocals are a little rough, but it’s still pretty convincing I think.
